Yoga chikitsa with Gilly

1hr of yoga chikitsa (translates as as yoga therapy) another name for the primary series of ashtanga vinyasa yoga. This is a short class relatively for ashtanga at just 1 hr but it will still be quite intense if you are not used to the form. Enjoy it, do what you can with patience and love for your body, ajdusting the poses to suit your ability and you will get the best out of this yoga chikitsa. Baby Grasshopper Vinyasa with Eleonora - Level 2

Baby Grasshopper pose is a great arm balance option for yogis who are new to arm balancing or who aren’t quite ready to trust their arms to hold their full body weight.
This isn’t the full grasshopper pose, but it is the basic step before you get there! It’s worth posting by itself, because it’s challenging enough as it is.
The trick here is to push all your weight into your standing foot. That leg needs to be strong, and the core needs to be engaged to lift the hips up.

Nadi Shodhana pranayama is a hatha yoga practice that purifies the nadis (energy channels in the subtle body) through alternate-nostril breathing. Shodhana means “to purify.” The practice balances the flow of vital energy, or prana, through the ida (the left, or moon) and pingala (the right, or sun) nadis, as well as the flow of breath through the right and left nostrils.

Split Flow with Eleonora - Level 1-2

In today vinyasa class we gonna play with Hanumanasana, also known as Full Split. This pose commemorates the impossible leap made by Hanuman, the Hindu Monkey God, from the southern tip of India to the island of Sri Lanka in the epic Ramayana as the means of reuniting Queen Sita with her beloved Rama, to whom he was totally devoted.
The pose simbolizes the power of devotion and leaps of faith which is exactly what we need to accomplish it. It's a reminder that nothing is impossible if we believe deeply enough.
As always in asana practice, what your pose looks like and how close you get to the floor, is completely irrelevant.

This pranayama practice is called Bhramari - it is a super special practice , like all Pranayama it is beneficial for calming the nervous system allowing us to rest into the parasympathetic nervous system when practiced . It helps with anxiety , stress and intense emotions like anger . 
It's a favourite of mine because of the sound , with this practice the exhalation becomes a beautiful humming / buzzing sound reminiscent of the bumblebee 🤗
