Contemporary dance for beginners

For adult beginners, all genders

This class will allow you to discover new ways of moving your body and improve your coordination, flexibility, strength and sense of rhythm, but mainly you will feel great after the class.

The emphasis is on flowing natural movements, stretch and release, swings, suspension, sliding, shapes, upper body twists, verticality... and good music. We will do a lot of floor work and will end with a short well-deserved relaxation period.

Flamenco for Beginners

Body Isolation

This class is for everybody in a body :-)

Obviously a curiosity towards learning to isolate body parts helps but is not necessary sometimes you will see something, not know what it is but find yourself there... trust that! The movement research of the class will be in small controlled movement, helping you with developing a deeper connection to body control and awareness of the body on a micro level. We will also work on coordination and layering.

This type of body isolation is ideal for people who dance as it can enhance the quality of movement in the body, but, outside of that it is also good for yogis and any other movers as when we isolate we are working on mobility in the body, especially as we work with joints and the muscles surrounding these areas.

We learn to slow down in this practice and we learn to move with awareness of the tiny spaces that exist inside the body. In these spaces we not only find connection but we can find textures, that with practice will help us create some cool things. We learn coordination and this is some of the best food not just for your body but for your brain!

This class also has space for you to explore the practices in a freestyle way so you can find where these sit uniquely into your body. Free play to end our session where we explore, we find things and we have a chance to let go.
